Stoney Lane Organic Farm has been farmed by the Daniels family for five generations. The land has been used for dairy, hay, corn, soybean and various grain production. All 60 acres are currently preserved by the American Heritage Conservancy. The farm lies in the beautiful rolling hills of Bucks County farmland four miles from the Delaware River. The geological make-up within the Brunswick Formation, in which the farm is located, gives the land large amounts of shale and limestone. The soil also contains heavy clay, a common soil type for Bucks County farms.

Conventionally farmed for the past two generations, Jared Daniels, the owner of Stoney Lane Organic Farm, made the decision to switch over to sustainable practices. From 2016 - 2023 we had 25 acres of USDA Certified Organic Land set aside for growing organic vegetables and grains the way nature intended - without the use of chemical pesticides and fertilizers. Organic matter has increased along with soil structure which provides an ideal habitat for beneficial microorganisms to thrive.  Although this was not an easy task, the benefits outweigh the risks. The remaining acres were still used for hay, straw and soybean production. However In 2024 we had to make a very difficult decision to shut down our Organic Vegetable Operation as it was so heavily reliant on a strong labor force it became monetarily unsustainable for a small scale production. We decided to once again take the farm in a new direction to insure it’s survival for generations to come.

In 2024 we decided to utilize the land for just hay and straw as well as set aside a few acres for cut flowers and perennials. We successfully transitioned to a Hay and Straw Farm with Nursery Certification for Cut Flowers and Perennials. We have opened a beautiful Flower stand to offer our farm-grown flower stems, carefully crafted arrangements and bouquets, as well as a selection of potted perennials and annuals. Our emphasis is on growing native plants that play a vital role in supporting our beneficial insects and promoting biodiversity. The greenhouse, hoop houses, and high tunnel are all steadily filling up with a diverse variety of native perennials, ensuring a vibrant and sustainable ecosystem on our farm.
